What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Animate Shibuya is a paradise for anime fans, praised for its immense selection of manga, figures, and exclusive merchandise, particularly for series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Vocaloid. Visitors highlight the friendly staff and the fun Gratte cafe experience. However, many warn that it's easy to overspend due to the sheer volume of desirable items, and some find the Gratte drinks a bit too sweet.
"HUGE selection of every anime related thing you can imagine. My 11 year old daughter is obsessed with Hatsune Miku and other vocaloid artists and they had a whole section of vocals stuff here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even gave a free gift to my daughter after we checked out (I think because they were impressed that she was learning Japanese and that she liked Miku so much…and maybe because we bought a LOT of merchandise 🤣)"

"Omg! Our flight’s stopover was Japan at Haneda airport, and we took a train to Shibuya just for this store! IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. IT WAS AMAZING! A great experience for anime lovers! The merch was reasonable for their price, and some were really cheap! I only had a few hours though and I had to go to other places so we had to rush. But if we weren’t in a hurry, I would’ve bought a ton more (if I had a bigger budget, I spent all my money here😅 No regrets) and I would’ve spent a lot of time browsing through all the merch! The selection of anime merch is SPECTACULAR!! There were my favorites such as Bungo Stray Dogs, Heaven Official’s Blessing, Mo Dao Zu Shi, and other animes I love such as Toilet bound Hanako-kun, Apothecary Diaries, Ranma 1/2, and Oshi no ko! As I said before, I had a limited budget, and limited time too, so I didn’t have the time to walk throughout the store, but nevertheless, it was just perfect! If I can, I would definitely go there again!! For anyone reading this until the end, thanks for reading, have fun, and I recommend having a pretty big budget if you wanna go here!"

"Tons of things here for everyone. Manga, gacha, merchandise for various anime like HoloLive, Medalist, OnePiece, DeathNote, Nontarou, and other Jump Comics series. The lineup here is always fairly long in the middle of the store so do plan to have time to get your purchases in after selection."
