Reviews Summary

Taito Station Shibuya offers a classic arcade experience with a mix of crane games and rhythm machines. While many enjoy the thrill of winning prizes and the energetic atmosphere, some visitors find certain crane games to be difficult and expensive, leading to disappointment. The B1 floor is often praised for its diverse selection of video games. TikTokReddit

"Please avoid to play in this greedy shop. The staff will not be helpful or provide any useful suggestions. We spent over $5000 yen on the chocolate tower machines, and we ended up leaving with disappointed. The chocolate tower does not fall as expected, it will move forward quickly on the beginner stage to entice people to spending more money. This is a trap designed to make people spend more and creating a disappointed experience for tourists.

We asked the staff to space the candies more averagely as it is so hard to catch up the candies and push forward, the staff did but the situation still not improved. In the end, we were frustrated and decided to give up. The staff then attempted to "help" by manually moving the candies to make the chocolate tower function, but ironically, it still wouldn't move even a bit.

I saw many people playing and spending significant amounts of money, only to have the tower collapse without delivering rewards as you see in the picture. Even the candies or chocolate tower fall, it will only fall in the glass and It feels dishonest. People all leaving with their sadness or anger. The staff will only tell you to spend more money as they don’t care and even help🤷 If you want to be treated poorly and leave disappointed, go ahead and play here. Overall, it was a very bad experience. This taito station shop is the worst👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻"

The shop has changed its price to mostly 200 yen or even 300 yen for bigger plushies. There are also not many medium size ones. This shop is comparatively smaller than some other crane game shops. It used to be one of my favorite ones with high chance of getting something at reasonable cost. But I probably won’t go again due to the 200 yen or 300 yen per play.

(April 2025: 5 stars)

I was playing crane games, not an expert, but still managed to get some big and small soft toys. And I saw some other people also managed to get some soft toys. So, this place is not a scam, you can really get them after multiple tries. Note: I only tried the soft toys, but not other types of prizes.

I managed to get 5 soft toys (see photo attached) after spending a total of 10,000 yen. The 500ml tea is to show the relative size. It maybe cheaper if I buy them online, but the fun of process of getting them maybe priceless.

The crane game area is generally pleasant and clean. (Unlike the game area at B1 which was a bit dark and noisy)"

"I’m not really into the whole claw machine vibes on the first floor, tried a few but they’re not really my couple of tea. The arcade machines they have on the b1 floor tho are really fun, I played Luigi’s mansion, taiko, and some other games. I could spend a whole day in there!"
