"Great small white sand beach near Shimoda. Not privatized by hotels, fishing or diving. Life guards in summer. Toilets and working showers free. Calm water. Good snorkelling around the rocks. Parking is expensive, ¥1500 to 2000 no matter how long you stay."

"Beach is small and quaint. At the time we were there it had lots of washed up grass and wood. Shallow for the kids which was really nice. Water was clear. We could see fish jumping out of the water."

"Maybe my beach reviews are skewed because I’m Australian, but this beach was just too small for it to be enjoyable! There were a lot of people snorkeling and some with kayaks so we didn’t stop for long. It’s on a skinny road and there’s a parking lot just back the road you then have to walk down. I was there mid morning on a weekday and I personally wouldn’t stay with the amount of people. Again, maybe just cause I’m Australian but when the beach is busy I’m used to just driving down the road to a different one lol."
