"In the heart of Shinjukus Kabukichō lies Godz, well hidden in a basement location.
This is the best metal bar in Tokyo, maybe on this planet.
Godz is an institution, a small cultural treasure, for those of us who love Metal and metal culture. One of the most fun features at Godz is that everyone can write down and request songs.. like an analog Jukebox.
Everyone who works here is genuinely a part of Tokyo's metal scene and they both know the music as well as how to run a good bar.
Sometimes you have the privilege of being part of live jams and live acts down here in the other room."

"GODZ rules! If you're a metal fan this place is perfect for you! Smoking is allowed inside, but there is great airflow inside so you won't notice as much. As a non smoker myself I didn't notice the smoke much even though there were people smoking next to me in the bar.
It's a small bar. Perfect size I'd say, because if it was bigger it wouldn't be as cozy. Music wasn't too loud, staff was friendly and spoke good English, drinks were reasonably priced for the area and music was banging!
There is a unisex bathroom and toilet inside so you don't have to go to a public restroom.
I enjoyed my stay, bought a few beers and a t-shirt, and will absolutely come back!"
