What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking panoramic views from the 50th floor, making it a spectacular backdrop for any meal, especially for special occasions. While the service is often noted as attentive and accommodating, the food quality receives mixed reviews, with some finding it extraordinary and others describing it as average or cold.
"Nice restaurant, the view of the city is the only redeeming feature. We arrived at 9:00 PM, the kitchen closed at 10:00 PM, we were seated at 9:05 PM. They literally threw us a tourist menu, different from what we'd read outside, and the waitress basically told us to "fast order." Expired food, two pieces of meat and a salad. I recommend arriving early, at least 4 hours before the restaurant closes, to give the kitchen time to figure out how to handle a table for two."

"Simply Amazing! We reserved the Luxurious Anniversary Kaiseki with cake and a 2 hour all you can drink special! You can order all types of drinks from beer, wine, cocktails, and sake at convenience through your mobile phone.
Fine dining with an amazing view 50 floors above the ground was truly spectacular. Our 10 course meal was delicious and we couldn't have asked for a better experience overall.
We also received top-notch service from Mr. Nogi who tried his best to explain each course to us in English. He was very attentive and professional throughout the evening, making our experience even more enjoyable!
Thank you for the wonderful experience, we will definitely be back again!"

"The best dining of my life. The food was excellent. The service also the best. The view was something wonderful. We went here to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. I read something on internet, but never imagined the food was so extraordinary as we eating. The view of Tokyo from 50th floor was something incredible. We booked for Hana Course. 10000 yen. Beverages included. Two flutes of champagne each, and beers, sakes, and coffee at the end of dinner. But the dinner was the best. My compliments to the chef. And of course to entire staff.

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Some restaurants may offer more adaptable menus or be more accommodating to children, but it's best to inquire directly when booking. The novelty of seeing Tokyo from such a height could be a memorable part of a family trip, but be prepared for potentially higher costs and a more formal setting than a typical family restaurant.
💰 Budget Travelers
To maximize value, look for set menus that include beverages, as this can often be more economical than ordering drinks separately. Alternatively, for a free panoramic view of Tokyo, consider visiting the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, which is located nearby and offers similar, albeit ground-level, vistas.
💖 Couples & Special Occasions
Many reviewers highlight the attentive service and the opportunity to enjoy a luxurious multi-course meal with a wide selection of drinks. The combination of fine dining and an unparalleled view makes for an unforgettable evening.

The Shinjuku Nomura Building Experience
Many guests celebrate the fine dining atmosphere and the opportunity to enjoy special occasions, such as anniversaries or birthdays, with elaborate multi-course meals. The availability of attentive service, with staff often able to communicate in English, enhances the overall experience for international travelers. However, it's important to note that some diners have reported inconsistencies in food quality, with occasional complaints about dishes being served cold or lacking flavor, leading them to suggest exploring other dining options in Tokyo.
To make the most of your visit, booking in advance is highly recommended, particularly if you desire a table with a view. Understanding the restaurant's specific operating hours, especially kitchen closing times, is also crucial to avoid a rushed dining experience. The convenience of mobile ordering for drinks and dishes adds a modern touch to the dining process, allowing for a more relaxed meal.
Navigating Dining Choices and Expectations
For those celebrating a special occasion, the Luxurious Anniversary Kaiseki or similar set menus are often highlighted as a worthwhile indulgence. These packages frequently include a generous all-you-can-drink selection, offering good value and variety. However, it's worth noting that some guests have reported receiving 'tourist menus' that differ from what they expected, and experiencing rushed service if they arrive too close to the kitchen's closing time.
Ultimately, the Shinjuku Nomura Building Sky Restaurants are best approached as a destination where the spectacular views are the primary draw, complemented by a dining experience that can range from exceptional to ordinary. Researching individual restaurant offerings within the building and booking strategically will help ensure a more satisfying visit.
