#mtfuji #trailrunning #hiking #2025 #fujinomiya #subashiri #mizugatsukapark #富士山 #宝永山 #富士宮ルート #須走ルート I love being at Mount Fuji. The chaos of daily life, anxiety and everything calm down when I’m out there. Finding less travelled routes and facing fears, old and new.

Reviews Summary

Mizugatsuka Park is praised for its stunning, unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji and its serene atmosphere, especially beautiful in winter with snow. While the natural beauty and photo opportunities are highlights, some visitors note issues with transportation clarity and seasonal amenity closures. Reddit

"A beautiful stop on the slopes of Mount Fuji. A peaceful energy to this place, it's nice to take a break and take in everything around you.
Unfortunately, the shop was closed the day we were there.
There are two sets of washrooms, one was closed, but further one near the back of the parking lot was open. They were clean and well-stocked."

"Thank goodness there were lockers!!! I'm not sure what I would have done if I had to carry my backpack with me.

The only reason I put 4 starts instead of 5 was because the transportation was confusing. I took one bus that I bought a round trip ticket for, but they did not honor the return trip. Even when I bought a ticket to go back, the bus only took me partway. I wasn't sure what to do, so I ended up getting a cab to get me back to town.

I don't think there was any ill will or fraud, just a language barrier that didn't allow me to easily get help understanding what to do.

There's a good chance that the bus I was supposed to take showed up after I left in the cab (I saw one pull-up as we were leaving)."

James Bunch

"Located in Susono near Mt. Fuji, Japan. There is a building where you can purchase Mt. Fuji memorabilia, utilize clean restrooms, a viewing spot (reservations only) on the 2nd floor, and food.

Driving here seemed fairly easy, as we went at the speed limit and the roadway was cleared of snow. Be careful of black ice in the parking lot, though. The lot wasn’t cleared so you kinda just park wherever. I slid in the parking lot but was able to brace myself. Whoops!

Some of the amenities here include snow and hiking gear. Probably one of the last bigger stops before heading from Gotemba into Mt. Fuji. The park itself, when we came, was deep with snow which made for beautiful pictures with the family. If I ever came back here, I would stop by again. I did buy some omiyage (souvenirs) here, particularly Mt. Fuji items."
