What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ritsurin Garden is widely praised as one of Japan's most beautiful and well-maintained gardens, offering a peaceful escape with its expansive landscapes, ponds, and teahouses. Visitors appreciate its tranquility, even during busier times, and the opportunity to experience a traditional tea ceremony. Some find the summer heat challenging and the boat ride limited in scope, but overall, it's considered a must-visit.
"Definitely my favourite park in Japan so far. I was visiting different parts of the country for 3 weeks. The landscape is wonderful. The garden is well maintained. You see lots of different animals (fishes, turtles, colorful lizards and of course many different birds etc.). You can also buy some fish food. And watch a tea ceremony."

"It was better than I expected. The Kikugetsu Stay, which borders the largest pond inside the park, made me want to be there for a long time. The staff wearing kimonos guided me inside an old wooden house, drank tea, and it was an experience that made me realize that I had come to Japan. I went around every corner of the building, felt the atmosphere, and explored the space. I would like to visit again next time. 🌳"

"A must-visit place in Takamatsu area! It is mostly flat around the garden so that it is easy to walk around, and there are a couple of Cha-Ya (Japanese tea house) that you could relax and enjoy the beautiful views while sipping excellent quality tea and sweets. Very picturesque and I’d highly recommend this place!!"
