What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally appreciate Aloha Garden Tateyama for its lush tropical gardens and the unique opportunity to interact with animals, especially capybaras. The relaxed atmosphere and reasonable entry fee are also positives. However, some concerns have been raised about animal welfare, the park's upkeep, and the limited, low-quality food options at the on-site cafe.
"I really enjoyed this botanical garden. There are several large atria housing numerous tropical plant species. The musa paradiaca are absolutely huge. There are some interesting birds in the facilities, too. I went during a weekday and there was almost no one around. If you love plants, it's well worth a visit. Though it's a bit difficult to get to if you're not driving. I took the JR highway bus from Tateyama Stn. and walked a bit. I would definitely return."

"I loved the tropical rainforest garden and for family with kids, the animals feeding experience is good too. Some of the animals were not looking well and the space assigned to each species was too small for some.
The entrance fee is reasonable and the parking is free so it's not bad. The Hawaiian dance show was nice.
However it only has a little cafe that serves junk food. There are limited options and the taste was bad so I recommend you eat somewhere else after your visit to the park."
