"This area was just fantastic on every level! It is an artsy community that's primary focus is pottery. People from all over the world come here to learn how to craft it the way the Japanese do. The setting for the famous Japanese anime A Whisker Away was from this area as well, which made the experience very exciting for my daughter as she pointed out things from the movie. The visitor's center at the train station gave us a map of the Pottery Footpath so we could see the 25 highlights in the area. There is an A path that is shorter than a longer B path. The path is marked very well with signs! There were craftsmen working in shops creating pieces on the spot, many cool unique shops, and so many unique things to look at! There were also places you could make your own pottery- or paint it as well. Even the cafes and restaraunts had a cool flair of pottery in their buildings and served food on unique pieces. The town really has come together to highlight their craft- the walls, streets, and entire area was just a pure showcase of all things pottery. I took so many pictures- there is no way I could post them all- if you are ever in this area, and you like pottery, you should definitely check it out!"
