Reviews Summary

Visitors find the serene Japanese garden to be the highlight, offering a peaceful escape, especially during cherry blossom season. The museum provides historical insights, greatly enhanced by the passionate volunteer guides who are crucial for non-Japanese speakers. While the castle ruins themselves are minimal, the garden and the guided museum experience offer significant value for the low entry fee.

"As most of the castle has been destroyed, the museum stands in its place. There are plenty of artifacts inside and seeing as all of the labels are in Japanese, non Japanese speakers need to rely on the guide book. The surrounding gardens are serene and stunning, the highlight of our visit. Only 50 Yen too!"

Dane Marcus

"The museum is visitor friendly, there are a lot of volunteer guides that explains the museum displays for you. English option is also offered for some guides. Our guide was a Japanese Uncle who speaks English. Even though his English wasn't perfect l, he was very passionate on explaining and trying to tell us more about Tokushima history.

The guide was the one that made this museum visit a five stars. If I were to see the exhibition by myself, with my limited Japanese ability, I probably wouldn't enjoy as much as now."
