What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary

"As it was raining, so had to walk mindfully as the steps were slippery. Information was displayed at the designated reconstructed parts. We could also get a bird's eye view of Tottori as we looked down from the ruins at Mt Kyusho. Along the way up, we came across a fox shrine. There is a public toilet but looks like it has not been cleaned for quite some time."

"Great walk through the ruins and the gardens. Particularly enjoyed the walk up to the very top, 10 levels in total, about 30 minutes walking. It did get steeper after level five though, but will worth it for the view. Was there when the Sakura was in full bloom and it was awesome."

"There are many castle ruins all over Japan, and this one looks like many others, with just a bunch of stone walls left, but it wins points for offering a nice hike and view. The hike consists mostly of clambering up stones turned into steps big steps. It is a bit steep at some parts, and I was quickly out of breath and lacked energy because I skipped breakfast. Eat before you go and bring water. At my slow pace with many breaks it took about 45 minutes to get up, and much quicker, 20-30 minutes, back down. The other people on the hike were very friendly, too. Locals seem to enjoy using it for their morning walk. There are other trails at the top, perhaps leading down the other side of the mountain, but I did not know where they went and I had a train to catch. It would be fun to explore this area more! And watch out for bears (according to the signs)."
