You can take up the views from Mount Daishi at the top of Kinosaki Onsen Ropeway which was awarded ⭐️ 1-star in the Michelin Green Guide Japan for spectacular scenic views over the town all the way to the Sea of Japan. Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Mount Daishi for its absolutely stunning panoramic views of Kinosaki Onsen town and the Sea of Japan, accessible via a fun ropeway ride or an easy hike. The historical Onsenji Temple adds a cultural dimension, though some caution is advised regarding potential bear sightings and checking temple opening days for souvenirs.

"The hike is about 20-30mins, with beautiful views.
Little steep but very easy hike.
There has been bear sighting some time ago (lot of signs with "DONT WALK TO THE TOP") so it's better to ask at the ropeway station if it's okay to walk up. They told me it was okay and I only saw two little lizards on the trail, but do ask before you go.
The best view is on top of the ropeway station where you can see the sea of Japan.
On top there's a little unattended shrine, but goshuin stamps are sold at onsenji (closed on the Thursday when I went, but Friday was opened)
The way down was chill; an older local lady outrun me on the way"

"Even with all of the snow on the trails the hike up from the town to the top was still magical. Winding through the trees, past the mall Jizo statues, and crossing small wooden bridges; you will find yourself pleasantly surprised by this hike. Total time from the bottom to the top was about 25min at a moderate pace."

Matthew Chen

"Great views and an excellent trail going down the mountain if you don’t want to take the ropeway. There is a lovely cafe at the top as well."
