Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the JAXA Tsukuba Space Center for its educational value and impressive exhibits, especially the life-size rockets. The free admission and friendly staff are major draws, with many recommending the guided tours for an in-depth look at operational facilities. Some visitors note that booking tours in advance is essential.

"Highly recommended.

Easy to reach from Tokyo main station with the almost non-stop bus used by commuters of the Tsukuba research / university area.

Book in advance the private tour! I did not but got lucky as one person did not show up and got their place. As I was the only non Japanese on this tour, I got a private tour guide providing information in English. We visited real operational buildings (ISS control center and astronauts training center).

The rest of the museum is great as well and free. It is full of life-size models of spacecrafts, engineering models or back-up flight models!"

Luca Santoro

"Do you want to stimulate your child's curiosity? More than enough!
There are also capsule toys containing rocket fragments. I think kids will love them."

西村英明

"This place it's amazing.

My 4yo son loved to be able to see a real spaceship, to feel like an astronaut, to see the food they eat at space.

Another great thing was to be able to listen the sound of a spacecraft launch. And the best part it is totally free."
