What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tonnaha Beach is praised for its beautiful clear waters and good snorkeling opportunities, especially for families with its netted swimming area. Visitors appreciate the included parking and shower facilities. However, some note the need for water shoes due to pebbles and the limited natural shade, recommending visitors bring their own. Occasional debris and loud music were mentioned as minor drawbacks by a few.
"Amazing off the road beach house! Staff is incredibly nice, it’s very easy to make friends, the beach is nice. They have a nice range of available water sports, no diving though but then the water isn’t very deep anyway. The water was a bit clouded by a previous windy day when we went, but still great… definitely bring beach shoes if you have weak feet though, there are rocks in the water sometimes… not an issue for us…"

"If you fancy mostly loud annoying screaming pop music, pipes in the see, rafinery and sports equipment in the view, plastic garbage on the beach, 3000 yen for table - enjoy 😅
Beach itself is beautiful and water crystal clear on low tide. They should just go and clean the garbage in the morning - it would take 30 minutes max and beach would be clean. Safety net installed for safe swimming 👍 Expect a bit of seaweed. Don't expect shade. Many people snorcheling, I suppose it must be good, haven't tried.
500 yen per person admission fee with parking included, enough parking spots. I recommend going right (to rocks) where is just pure calming nature.
We decided to visit this beach - good enough for a bit of swimming and walking, UV umbrella helped a lot 👍"

"Great lil spot. Parking did cost ¥en , and was per person. ¥500 per adult , ¥300 per child, but was definitely worth it. We had fun snorkeling and walking on the small quiet beach. There are floats and jet skies for rent but we didn't use those. There is also a small netted area safe to swim from Jellyfish , etc.. fun and good especially for Littles.
There were also small showers included for after having fun at the beach.
The staff working the beach hut were friendly and one spoke some English. Bring Yen for sure and have a great time."
