"Climbing the thousand steps of Yamadera to see the temples at the top was such a great experience. The little town of Yamadera is super cute and peaceful, and surprisingly easy to get to from Sendai. Even the train station has its own charm – it just sets the mood perfectly.

The walk up the mountain was beautiful, and yeah, the stairs were definitely a workout, but totally worth it. I went with my in-laws, and even though they’re not the youngest anymore, they managed just fine since there are lots of places to stop and take a break along the way.

All in all, a stunning and memorable experience."

Anne Lysa

"Breathtaking view definitely worth it! We visited when the weather was 35°C, but the view made it worthwhile. Don’t forget to stop by Cold Buckwheat Soba on your way back to the train"
