"There is one table having quite a substantial lunch. We had the traditional tea/coffee and snack. Great place to explore afterwards, visit the bathroom and you will get the opportunity to get a sneak view of various internal areas which are beautifully designed. The garden is great to walk around."

"Enjoy the tastes and culture of Yonezawa at the historical preserved Japanese architecture

I had a wonderful experience at Uesugi Hakushakutei for my first visit in Yonezawa and yet it is still a must-go to place whenever I'm in Yonezawa.

It is a perfect place to have proper lunch or dinner as they offer you a variety of dishes that inherit the traditions of the Uesugi family and use local cuisine as well as that famous Yonezawa A5 rank bee. Everything they serve is absolutely beautiful and the staff would kindly give you the food presentation:)

Also, I recently discovered that this place has developed the vegan menu (advanced reservations recommended) and it looks so good too! It is always nice to have more vegan options especially places like rural area in Japan which we can not often expect for those options..)

After a lovely meals, walking in their garden would be also one of your highlight too! I went there last summer but I bet they offer you beautiful Japanese garden in every season:)"

"This is a restaurant with typical Japanese style. Good atmosphere with reasonable price (but not many choices). Still there is room for improvement for even better service."
