What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kaeng Nyui Waterfall offers a natural escape with a beautiful cascade and a refreshing pool, though visitors should be prepared for an informal and sometimes confusing entrance fee process. The ongoing construction is transforming the area, with new facilities being added, but some find the current experience a bit underwhelming compared to expectations.
"So first thing, before you even see a drop of water, some random woman basically plays Frogger with your motorbike and demands 30k. No booth, no official sign, just straight-up “give me money or I’ll fling myself under your wheel.” Totally legit, right? I got a ticket, but honestly, I’ve seen more paperwork at a lemonade stand.
Inside the “complex” (and I use that word the way Marvel uses “universe” for movies they never should’ve made), you get: a couple of toilets, some tables, one sad restaurant, and locals selling fruit like it’s the hottest nightclub in town. That’s it. Congratulations, you’ve entered paradise.
Now the “swimming” area. Imagine a puddle with commitment issues. It’s a waterfall, but really it’s just good for soaking your legs while you question your life choices. Then comes the main event: the actual waterfall. It’s water. It falls. Groundbreaking. I’ve had more spiritual experiences with a showerhead at a dodgy hostel. And I paid less for those.
Verdict: If you like scams, puddles, and disappointment wrapped in jungle humidity, this place is perfect. Otherwise, save your 30k and buy yourself a Beerlao. At least that waterfall goes straight to your liver."

"Nice little waterfall
Like Wolf Roodsan siad 5 months back, it is "closed" but open.
You go there and a guy at a sorta formal looking booth waves you down and days you need to pay. One of my friends just ignored him and drove off. He asked the rest of us to 50k kip. We haggled down to 30k.
Im pretty sure it's just some random guy making money off tourists cause we got no ticket or anything. Even better, once we were past the gate we saw a big sign saying that the falls were temporary closed! (There were a few locals enjoying them though)
There was a lot of construction going on at the parking lot area, and looks like it will be very beautiful once it's finished and the nature had returned. Maybe a year or so?
But the falls themselves were nice.
There were several, the largest being at the top.
There is a decent swimming pool at the bottom one. The others don't have much of a pool at their base.
I'd say it was a slightly odd experience, but definitely worth the 30k we paid!"

"Today is 19th of July 2025 , it’s officially open now , entrance ticket is 20k looks bit modern after renovation but still ok"
