Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Turaida Museum Reserve for its beautifully restored castle and extensive grounds, offering a comprehensive historical experience. The availability of English translations and the affordability of the entrance fee are also highlighted as significant positives. Some note that the ticket is only for the castle, with other areas being free, which can be a point of confusion but also a budget-saver.

"Glad they honour journalist credentials. Thank you! ☺️ Very happy all placards are translated into English and for many of the exhibits in the different buildings there are English booklets. Incredible restoration of the castle complex. I stayed for a couple of hours and still didn’t see all the buildings on the whole complex, nor walked all of the extensive grounds."

Jennifer Smith

"Well restored castle from the 12th century (improved and built also over the next few centuries) with a great view from the top of the tower overlooking the Gauja river valley. Access to the nearby area with other smaller buildings is included in the ticket. Parking is on the other side of the road and costed 2€, payable by either Mobily app or at the ticket counter. Definitely worth the visit and perhaps the most prominent sightseeing while visiting the Sigulda area."

Aayush Jaiswal

"The Turaida Museum Reserve is much more than just the castle: a sculpture garden, a small church, several museums, walking trails, etc. etc. etc. There is enough to see and do to fill a whole day!"
