It is interesting to see what Lebanon was like before the civil war happened. These videos were recorded circa 1965, when Lebanon was known as the Switzerland of the Middle East, a place where the two different cultures of the west and east came together. Do you think Lebanon will return to this? 🇱🇧 #lebanon #middleeast #History #beirut #peace #travel #lebanese #Lifestyle

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museum of Lebanese Prehistory as a beautiful and mesmerizing 'hidden gem' offering a deep dive into Lebanon's rich heritage across multiple historical eras. The friendly and knowledgeable guides are frequently highlighted as enhancing the educational experience. However, some note that the lack of comprehensive air conditioning can make the upper floors uncomfortably hot, especially in summer, and that exhibit information is primarily in Arabic and French.

"The Museum is beautiful, 3 floors of history, from the Iron, Bronze Age, Byzantine, Greek, Roman, The Dark Ages and the Ottoman.

It will take you around 2-3 hours to see it all. We started at the basement level, but if you go in the afternoon or later (in summer time) better start on the top floor, the building doesn't have a complete air conditioning system so the top floor is really hot... Better get it out of the way early.

Won't spoiled what you will find, but is worth it considering the rich history that Lebanon has...

Enjoy!"

Jose E. Coello

"The museum was so mesmerizing, and the guide that we had was so friendly, she educated us on a lot of topics related to the history of Lebanon, the evolution humans, the history of the museum itself and many more... Overall an amazing experience, definitely would recommend."
