After 22 years of living in the Raleigh area, I can’t believe it took me this long to find out about this HIDDEN train museum! 🚂✨ Less than 20 minutes outside of Apex, NC, the New Hope Valley Railway is one of the coolest spots I’ve come across. You can actually ride a vintage train through pine forests, step inside century-old cabooses, and even check out a miniature garden railroad. The best pa...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Lithuanian Railway Museum for its interactive exhibits, making it a hit with both children and adults. The outdoor railway park is a significant draw, offering a free and impressive display of historical locomotives. While some information is in Lithuanian, the overall experience is highly engaging and offers great value for money.

"It's a very nice museum. Surprisingly interesting even for adults.

Many exhibits can be touched. Children will be happy to feel like machinists.

Beautifully decorated halls with different themes. Simophorus with sound, interactive boards, virtual video, simulators of railroad crossing....

It is very interesting to feel the history, how the progress started.

After the visit we went outside and looked at different locomotives of the past at the end of the station on the last platform"

"Small but very nice museum! Was here before the renovation and now - it became much more interactive and now more suitable for visiting with children. Railway simulators are cool but some info is only in Lithuanian, we used Google translate to understand all the instructions. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is not very obvious but the elevator can take you there - do not hesitate to use it)"

Aliaksandra Shylai

"Small, interactive and perfectly adapted for children - this is the impression left after visiting this Railway Museum. While children play train drivers, adults can discover nostalgically familiar exhibits of past train journeys and get acquainted with the history of Lithuanian railways. An audio guide is very useful for this. A small minus - some of the VR glasses did not work. Overall - worth visiting both with and without children."
