Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise Macau for its unique blend of Portuguese and Chinese heritage, with many historical sites being free to explore. The food scene, especially Portuguese egg tarts, is a major draw. However, some find navigation challenging due to unreliable mapping apps and can be overwhelmed by the sheer number of casinos and resorts.

"This museum is free entry. The third floor of the museum is the most interesting. It exhibits a lot of information and models about telecommunications, including detailed information about telecommunications waves and electric circuits.

The second floor is about postage and has an exhibit of stamps around the world.

The information is interesting for both kids and adults. We spent over an hour in this museum.

My photos are only a small selection of the exhibits."

"The Macau Museum of Communications (MOP10 per person) is a educational and family friendly attraction that is makes for a fun way to spend a couple hours, especially for those visiting Macau with families. Opening Hours 9.30am-5pm. The museum is closed on Mondays and national holidays.

This is a surprisingly enjoyable museum where you will find three floors of displays on historic communications, telecommunications and general electronics presented in a child-friendly and interactive way. You are issued a smart card as you enter the museum and use it to participate in various interactive activities and to activate certainly monitors, displays and programmes.

We most enjoyed the stamp assembly station and the flight simulator you can try on the 2nd floor. The newsroom camera was also enjoyable as were the many cable, phone and electromagnetism stations were very interesting and good fun, even for adults. Everything in the museum is modern and in good working condition.

They have bathroom, decent gift shop with stamps and other souvenirs and a small seating area with drink dispenser machines (no cafe).

Overall, we consider this a great museum for those who are visiting with families and looking for child-friendly place to spend time in Macau. It is also a very good option during bad weather days when visitors are seeking indoor attractions.

Note: Unfortunately, the location of this museum is very remote, being on the far side of the Reservoir on Estrada de D. Maria II, no.7, which is located outside the Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal. Further, there are no bus stops in the area so unless you know how to find this location, you'll want to take a taxi. Make sure to have the Macau tourism map. Find and circle the Communication Museum on the map and give it to your taxi driver. They will know how to get there."
