What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Macao Tea Culture House for its serene atmosphere and beautiful Portuguese-inspired architecture, offering a peaceful escape. While some find the exhibits informative, others suggest it's a brief visit. It's a charming, free spot for a quick cultural immersion and photo opportunity.
"Located within the grounds of the Lou Lim Ieok Garden, at the corner of Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida (street) you will find a lovely pastel yellow colonial style building. This is a preserved heritage buildings which is used to house the Macau Tea Culture museum. Open 9am to 7pm daily.
The museum collection (free to visit) is interesting if you want to learn a bit about local tea culture, an important facet of Chinese heritage in this part of the world. There are historic tea sets, historic local tea house adverts and packages as well as some interesting export tea paintings on display in the first floor that I really like.
The upstairs is setup like a historic tea house with traditional wall and chairs. It is interesting to see if nothing else. Equally interesting to see is the interior architecture of this historic heritage building. The two tiered staircase is beautiful and adds a nice symmetry to this property.
You can comfortably see the entire collection in 10-15 minutes, making this a convenient add-on to your visit to the lovely Lou Lim Ieok Garden."
