Reviews Summary

Visitors find Pak Tai Temple to be a peaceful and culturally significant site, offering a serene escape from the bustling city. Its traditional architecture and spiritual ambiance are frequently praised, providing a glimpse into Macau's rich heritage. While some note that it's a smaller attraction, its accessibility and free entry make it a worthwhile stop for those interested in local culture and history.

"Nice little temple to walk around and take in some local culture. There weren’t folks there to give any information, but the peace and tranquility were nice."

Melissa Eisner

"Well, it gives a kind of exceptionally exotic and indigenous experience to travelers, but I'm not sure about the reason for this place's popularity. Note that incense smoke filled the entire place and you might feel obvious discomfort while breathing in and out. I just went out right after entering because of that."

Garam Lee

"Pek Tai Temple and is found on a small square, Largo Camóes in the small village of Taipa. This temple was built 1844 and is the only temple in Macau dedicated to the God Pek Tai.

This is a small and simple temple of typical Chinese design, featuring a main hall with shrines and figures of Pek Tai and other deities. There is a small open court, plenty of incense coils, leather drum, bells, festival lanterns and decorative plaster above the entrance and inner hall entrances.

This temple also features Cantonese opera performances held for the public during the (unofficial) celebration and Feast of Pek Tai. This can be enjoy to see if you happen to be visiting during such occasions.

In the end, this is not a priority temple visit in Macau yet it is nice to see if you happen to be in the Taipa Village area. You can conveniently stop by for a few minutes. The temple is a 2 minute walk from Rua do Cunha and quite easy to find. It is just across from the Old Taipa Tavern"
