What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bukit Kembara Trail is a rewarding but challenging hike, praised for its beautiful, less-crowded reservoir and dynamic scenery. Visitors appreciate the sense of accomplishment after conquering the steep, rugged paths, though some find it demanding, especially for beginners and children. The lack of facilities and potential for slippery conditions are noted drawbacks.
"Came here twice. First time went all the way to the stesen hujan, it take about 2 hours. Second time was looping the dam in and out take about 1 hour plus. Many mosquitoes need to bring repellent spray. The lake/dam quite beautiful during sunset."

"Of course! Here is the trail review, restructured and injected with a healthy dose of humor.

Forget the overhyped trails where you hike in a conga line of tourists. This one’s for those who like their nature with a side of mild suffering and a payoff that’s totally worth it.
The Vitals:
· Time: A solid 2.5 hours if you stop to question your life choices at least twice.
· Difficulty: They call it "moderate." Your legs will call it "a betrayal." It starts with a "why am I doing this?" steep climb before it remembers to be nice and flattens out.
· Parking: Let's just say if you see an empty spot, it’s probably a mirage. Or a motorcycle spot. Carpool or prepare to walk before your walk.
· Facilities: There is no public toilet. The trees are your friends. Please do your "pre-flight checks" elsewhere. This is not the place for a surprise.
The Trail Deets: The path is rugged, charmingly uneven, and features these cool ropes that make you feel like a legit mountain climber instead of someone who just escaped their desk. Highly recommend walking sticks, especially if it's rained—the steps get slicker than a politician's promise.
Once you survive the initial calf-burner climb (about 10 minutes of pure regret), the trail chills out a bit. Then you hit the dam, and oh man. It’s this serene, gorgeous, old-school reservoir that makes you forget you were silently cursing the incline just moments ago. It’s the universe’s reward for not giving up.
We even witnessed a full-on "Nature is Metal" moment—the circle of life in action! (No spoilers, but it was awesome).
Final Verdict: A peaceful,not-crowded, in-and-out trail that’s absolutely worth the effort. Just maybe don't go right after a storm unless you're keen on testing the slipperiness of mud with your own body."

"For beginner, this trail is quite challenging. Long and steep steps await. Got canes to borrow at the start, just make sure to return it back. There are ropes provided that can help you go up. I think it is around 1.5km to the lake, 3km return or so.. We didn't reach the top as it is too demanding for the kids. Be mindful when going down as it is quite slippery. We'll come back again to conquer it! 💪🏼"
