"This place must have been the jewel of the north once upon a time and is a hugely impressive building. Do wish Malaysia would develop these old buildings and give them back some life maybe with a private developer and create a hub. The cafe inside the station is a time warp of the 1930s but they desperately need to sort out the roof leak . For coffee lovers there is a cafe ZUS just opposite the station as you enter on the left"

I would recommend coming a day earlier than your intended departure to purchase your KTM or ETS tickets. That was what I did for my short trip to Taiping."
