What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Tin Alley for its rustic ambiance, rich heritage, and the vibrant art scene it fosters. The beautifully restored building and the dedication of its owner to preservation are frequently highlighted. However, some find the signage a bit confusing, and the interactive nature of the space could be clearer for first-time visitors.
"The ambience is rustic and full of heritage and culture. We love the wood and their art, and how they use wood in their art. It’s free to explore!"

"This nice place can be confusing for pedestrians passing nearby, with its small white banner “Ipoh Tin City Heritage” not visible, behind the roller blind “Pooi Lee Pelukis Iklan dan Bidai”. We thought it belongs to the tea shop on left side (the 3 first photos: 2 photos of front side and 1 photo of the interior of the tea shop visible from the stairs down).
The atmosphere inside is peacefully aesthetic. Without being approached by any staff, we can wander slowly from ground floor, on the stairs up, then on 1st floor where a restaurant Memories share harmoniously the space with local furniture and arts. Even standing on the stairs down, we take a moment to enjoy the view.
There is no entrance fee, only donation with discret boxes on 1st floor.
Opposite to the building,
the painted bricks cover the wall of the bridge on a several meters."

"The owner here is really friendly, and it’s definitely a must-visit spot for local Chinese. I really admire how he’s working to preserve the building by refurbishing and maintaining it so well. What matters even more is the vibe and content inside the building. They sometimes host exhibitions here too, which makes it even more worth a visit."
