What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find MaTiC to be a convenient and informative stop for tourist essentials and a pleasant place to experience Malaysian culture through performances and crafts. While some find it a bit quiet outside of event times, its role as a central information hub and a showcase for local arts is highly valued.
"Friendly and Professional Staff.
The staff were incredibly kind and professional. We stopped by to ask for suggestions on things to do during our one-month stay in Peninsular Malaysia, and they went above and beyond. They took the time to explain the main attractions across the country in great detail.
While we were there, they also invited us to attend their wonderful cultural and folk dance performance at 3 PM. It was completely free and truly fascinating. The show featured traditional dances from various regions of Malaysia, including those representing the Indian and Chinese communities.
What made it even more special was that they encouraged everyone to join in and dance together.
Just nearby, there’s also a local chocolate shop where you can sample unique Malaysian sweets."

"Caught the cultural dance show at MATIC with my mom last month and loved it! It runs every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3–4 PM and is such a beautiful, soulful showcase of Malaysia’s rich heritage. The dancers were talented and expressive, and each performance felt heartfelt and meaningful. It’s a simple setup, but the authenticity and cultural value make it totally worth it—for both locals and tourists."

Navigating Kuala Lumpur's Transport
When planning your journeys, be aware of Kuala Lumpur's notorious traffic jams, especially during peak hours. Redditors often suggest avoiding travel between 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM to minimize delays. For shorter distances or exploring specific neighborhoods, walking can also be a pleasant option, allowing you to soak in the city's atmosphere. Consider purchasing a Touch 'n Go card if you plan on using public transport frequently, as it simplifies fare payments.
Experiencing Malaysian Culture at MaTiC
Visitors can also explore the on-site handicraft and souvenir shop, which showcases a wide array of locally made products. This is an excellent opportunity to find unique gifts and mementos, such as batik fabrics, intricate wood carvings, and traditional pottery. Engaging with the local artisans and understanding the craftsmanship behind these items can be a rewarding part of the experience. Remember that Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country, and while Kuala Lumpur is cosmopolitan, showing respect for local customs, such as dressing modestly when appropriate, is always appreciated.
