What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
NZ Curry House KLCC is a popular 24-hour mamak restaurant celebrated for its stunning direct views of the Petronas Twin Towers, offering an unforgettable dining ambiance. While many praise the affordable prices and authentic Malaysian flavors, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality and service attentiveness. It's a go-to spot for the experience and the view, especially for late-night cravings.
"Located in the prime KLCC area, this restaurant draws and equal number of tourists and locals at lunch time. The food is pretty decent but not particularly outstanding.
My order of Ayam Bawang (Onion Chicken) was swapped with Sambal Ayam instead. The latter lacked the caramalised onions of the former and was somewhat disappointing. Likewise, when I requested for Bendi (Ladies Fingers) I was given the chopped and stir-fried version instead of the blanched whole ladies fingers that you get at true Nasi Kandar places.
From my observation, the service staff are not very attentive (or particularly polite) here. My drink order of Limau Ais (Iced Lime) was swapped for Teh Ais (Iced Tea). However they did get it changed for me.
Overall, it’s a popular and busy Nasi Kandar place. Prices are also on the high side. I don't think I will be missed if I don't return again in future."

"This restaurant is located just opposite the iconic Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur — and the setting is absolutely stunning! The outdoor seating gives you a direct view of the Towers, which makes the whole dining experience unforgettable. 🌆✨
The food is excellent, with every dish full of flavor and surprisingly affordable compared to the location. Service is also top-notch — the staff are friendly, attentive, and most of them speak English & Tamil which makes things very easy for tourists.
A must-visit spot for anyone coming to Kuala Lumpur. Great view, great food, and great service — you really can’t ask for more!"

"Tried Nasi Goreng, Dosa, and a few types of noodles. The food was okay — not bad but nothing special. The place is clean and the service is decent. Prices are a little on the higher side, but overall it’s an acceptable spot for a quick meal."

The Allure of the KLCC View
While the view is a significant draw, it's important to manage expectations regarding the food and service. Some reviews indicate that while the food is decent and affordable, it might not always be outstanding or consistently prepared [^R1, R2]. Service can also be a mixed bag, with some patrons reporting inattentive staff or order mix-ups. However, for many, the overall experience, amplified by the stunning vista, outweighs these minor drawbacks. It's a place where the ambiance and the view play a crucial role in the dining satisfaction, making it a popular choice for both tourists and locals seeking a vibrant mamak atmosphere with a view.
Navigating the Mamak Experience
The atmosphere is typically bustling, especially during peak hours and late at night, reflecting the popularity of mamak culture. It's a place where friends and families gather to eat, chat, and enjoy affordable, flavorful food. While the KLCC view is a unique selling point for this particular branch, the core of the experience remains the authentic mamak fare and the communal dining vibe. For visitors, it's an excellent opportunity to immerse themselves in local culinary traditions and enjoy a taste of Malaysia's vibrant street food scene, even if it's in a more established restaurant setting.
