What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Starhill is lauded as a luxurious and serene escape in the heart of bustling Bukit Bintang, offering high-end retail, a unique bookstore, and cafes with stunning views. Visitors appreciate its calm ambiance, elegant interiors, and convenient, affordable parking, making it a refined alternative to busier malls. Some find its high-class vibe a bit intimidating, and the payment system is noted as outdated.
"Starhill Gallery – oozes luxury minus the crowd
This mall is legendary, dating back to the days when the land where Pavilion now stands was still a school. Many of the high-end brands are here — some with names I can’t even pronounce. 😁
Lots of cafés, boutiques, an art gallery and even a bookstore. I like coming here to chill and escape the crowd and noise outside. It’s a great spot for quiet hangouts.
The toilets are decked out in marble with gold accents — pure luxury. The mall is always spotless. But the best part? Parking is only RM5 for the first 3 hours. Hard to believe, but true. Two exits available: Jalan Bukit Bintang or Jalan Imbi — pick your poison.
Only qualm: they’re still using a dinosaur payment system. No QR, no TNG, strictly old-school. But RM5.00 for 3 hours.. I’m not complaining."

"The Starhill (Kuala Lumpur)
The Starhill, formerly known as Starhill Gallery, is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most refined lifestyle destinations — a seamless blend of luxury retail, dining, art, and hospitality. Connected directly to the JW Marriott Hotel, this reimagined mall presents a calm, boutique atmosphere amid Bukit Bintang’s energetic streets.
After a major transformation led by YTL Corporation and international design studios, The Starhill reopened with a modern, open layout that feels more like a curated gallery than a mall. Its lower floors feature The Starhill Dining, an exquisite selection of restaurants and cafés, while its upper levels connect to JW Marriott’s 162 hotel rooms, merging hospitality with retail in one architectural statement.
Inside, visitors will find a mix of international fashion houses, watch and jewelry boutiques, wellness brands, and Malaysia’s flagship Eslite Spectrum — a 20,000 sq ft cultural bookstore from Taiwan that has become a major attraction on its own.
Elegant, serene, and thoughtfully designed, The Starhill offers more than shopping — it’s a destination for art, taste, and timeless style, redefining urban luxury in Kuala Lumpur."

"A very beautiful mall — every corner is perfect for photo-taking, even the toilets are beautiful and very clean. The mall isn't very big, but it mainly sells high-end luxury goods. There aren't many people, possibly because it gives off such a high-class vibe that it feels intimidating. The corridors and halls have plenty of seating for people to rest, which is much better than most other shopping malls."
