What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the Van Gogh Alive exhibition for its immersive and visually stunning presentation, offering a unique way to experience the artist's work. The convenience of the venue, especially its direct connection to Pavilion Bukit Jalil mall, is a significant plus. However, some attendees have noted issues with parking accessibility and payment methods within the mall complex.
"Attended an exhibition at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre and had a great overall experience. What stood out immediately was how convenient everything was — the centre is directly connected to Pavilion Bukit Jalil mall, so grabbing food, coffee, or anything in between was incredibly easy. No need for shuttle buses or long walks — it’s all just a few steps away.
The venue itself is modern, clean, and spacious. Plenty of natural light in the common areas, smooth flow between halls, and the air-conditioning held up well even with the crowd. Setup was efficient and signage clear, which made navigation stress-free.
Whether you’re attending or exhibiting, it’s one of the more comfortable venues I’ve been to in KL. Definitely helps that you’ve got the full mall experience right next door — food, retail, cafés, even massage spots if you need a break."

The facilities are top-notch, with excellent lighting, air conditioning, and clean amenities. The layout is well-organized, making it easy to navigate between different booths and sections.
The location is convenient, with plenty of parking available, and there are countless dining and shopping options nearby to explore after the event. The staff was professional and helpful throughout. Highly recommend this place for any event or exhibition – it’s a fantastic venue that sets a high standard."

"Attend to shoot some photos of the event.
first, i am sorry since I had to rate this 3 stars out of 5. Actually I really plan to give 5 stars. but because of some issue.
1. Parking
There are lots of parking if you came early in the morning. But the door are not all are open from the carpark. Need to walk around first as the security is checking at the entrance.
This is my second time i face this problem but now, even problematic. I have RM5 and RM50 notes. I cant make a payment since the ticket fee is only RM12. They only accept RM50 note if the fee is 30 and above.
I walk around where I dont know what to buy. First wanna buy the empire sushi but they only accept e-wallet. Then I walked to tealive, same problem too, no cash allowed.
I walk back to the kios, wanna use the e-wallet thingy to pay. I cant make the payment, the line is terrible. when i scan the QR for the payment, it loading so long. Why Dont i use the debit? my account got issue recently and I had to make a new card and the debit is not yet ready.
I walk around and manage to find the banner about the online payment. I scan the qr and trying to make another payment but the network is very bad. had to take escalator upwards for a better network.
I think i spent about 30-40 minutes just to make the payment. I am in rush since I had another shoot in seremban.
I hope, they will upgrade to tng or debit infuture.
2. piazza
I email the pavillion asking about this place. how is the rental or things going on for the event space in Q1 or early Q2 2024. Not response till today Q4 2024. maybe my email go into junk/spam.
im okay. i dont really mind about (2)
overall. my main issue is the (1). maybe I am the only one who face this difficulty. my bad. I will try to stay alert if I am visiting this mall."

The Immersive Art Experience
The exhibition often features a SENSORY 4™ immersive gallery, which is the heart of the experience. Here, Van Gogh's most famous works, such as 'Starry Night,' 'Sunflowers,' and 'The Potato Eaters,' are displayed in a grand, theatrical setting. The projections are synchronized with a classical music score and, in some versions, even scents, further enhancing the sensory engagement. This innovative presentation makes Van Gogh's art accessible and engaging for a wide audience, including those who may not typically visit art museums.
Beyond the main gallery, Van Gogh Alive often includes interactive zones and themed areas. Visitors might find a 'Starry Night' room where they can create their own digital masterpieces or a 'Sunflowers' area perfect for photos. The goal is to provide a comprehensive and memorable journey through Van Gogh's life and work, offering a fresh and exciting way to connect with one of history's most beloved artists.
Navigating Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre
When it comes to accessibility, the venue is generally well-organized with clear signage to guide visitors. However, some practical challenges have been noted. Parking, while abundant, can sometimes have issues with opening hours of certain entrances, and payment systems can be a point of frustration. Several reviews mention that vendors and facilities might prefer e-wallets, and cash payment options can be limited or inconvenient, especially for smaller transactions. It's advisable to have multiple payment methods ready.
For those relying on public transportation, the venue is accessible. For instance, the LRT Awan Basar station is a key transit point, from which visitors can proceed to the exhibition center. This makes it a viable option for those looking to avoid driving and parking hassles. Overall, the exhibition center offers a comfortable and convenient experience, enhanced by its integration with a major shopping mall, though attendees should be mindful of potential payment and parking nuances.
