"wonderful masjid. looks new but quaint and appears to be historic.
feels calm and serene in here. there's an old well that looks.
there's also a plaque written in Jawi which says:
The Masjid Engku Sayyid AbdulRahman Tokku Paloh was built in 1862 AD Kg Paloh, Kuala Terengganu. It is also the first and oldest masjid in Mukim [area served by a mosque] of Paloh. This masjid was founded by the famous scholar, Engku Sayyid Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad al-Idrus who was an Advisor to Sultan Zainal Abidin III, the Terengganu Sultan 1881-1918. This masjid is now aged 154 years old and original structure was build based on wood of Chengal and Tembesu donated by the public. It was built by the Paloh River, which is about 80m west from masjid minbar, which later was moved to east. Then it was moved again to the current site. The movements were caused by erosion along the riverbanks. The last move was in 1960, and the current land is on wakaf (donation)"
