What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Damai Beach is appreciated for its beautiful, clear greenish waters and stunning sunset views, offering a peaceful escape from the city. While it's a romantic spot with no entrance fee, visitors note that amenities can be limited, and it's wise to bring your own food and drinks as stalls may have few options.
"This beach has greenish clear water. Hard to find from where I came from in peninsula. Swimming area was covered with netting probably to protect from crocodile. If you come to Kampung Budaya, just walk a bit to appreciate and view this beach."

"Damai Beach is located about 1.5 hours from Kuching city center, which offers beautiful sea views.
If the weather is not too hot, Damai Beach is suitable to visit while enjoying the sea breeze. There is a food court selling various typical Malaysian foods, souvenir shops and is located next to the Sarawak Cultural Village.
Because the beach area is classified as having no people, we are not sure whether visitors can go down to the beach."

"Damai Beach is honestly a pretty romantic spot. It takes about an hour to drive from Kuching, and I really really enjoyed the ride—such a beautiful view all the way with green hills and blue sea 🌿🌊 peaceful and calming. There's no entrance fee which is a plus, and while the beach is lovely, there’s not much happening unless you come during special occasions.
I came during one of those busy days, so there were quite a lot of people around, including many tourists 😆✨ It was crowded in a fun way but still chill.
There’s a small canteen area that sells food and drinks and the prices are super cheap. But sadly, when I got there, only 2 out of 10 stalls were open, and most food was already gone. So yeah, we only got whatever leftovers were still there. Better come early or bring your own snacks just in case 😅"
