Reviews Summary
Kuching's night markets are generally well-regarded for their affordability and variety, offering a vibrant local experience. Visitors appreciate the wide selection of fresh produce and street food, though some caution is advised regarding hygiene and canopy height. The markets are a great place to immerse oneself in local culture and find bargains.
"Overall is ok for simple weekend market. One thing is the market canopy was positioned too low, making it hard for people with height to pass through comfortably. Food are quite ok and price considered reasonable. Besides food, you can find clothes, vege, fruits, domestic appliances and etc."

"Great open air street market with lots of very affordable local produce, some of which are difficult to find. Some stalls also sell ready to eat food too.
I visited on a Sunday morning around 11am and some stalls were still setting up, so I’ll visit here a bit later in the afternoon next time.
It’s not a huge market and occupies a single street, but there’s many stalls and quite a variety of things."

"Tanjong Datu National Park in Sematan , Sarawak is one of the remaining virgin forest in Kuching division. One can walk from Kpg. Telok Melano to Tanjong Datu National Park. Fast trekking takes around 1.5 hrs whereas a slow one takes more than 2hrs. The trek to the park cover mostly the foot hills, some areas involve the need to climb small hills. If one is not interested in trekking, one can take a speedboat at RM300.00 per trip and the boat can accommodate 6 persons. Lots of ground for camping, good supply of piped water. Rest house accommodation n "rest rooms" also available however has to be booked with the Park authorities in advance. The park has a very clean beach, one maybe lucky to occasionally see turtles lay their eggs on the beach nearby. The Park has a few trekking routes within the Park area, one can also see many types of vegetation ranging from palm trees to huge trees along the route. If one us lucky, one may also see a few type of mongkeys in the forest and even wild boars foraging the forest and occasionally walking along the beach in search of food. There is also a small turtle conservation project in the park whereby turtle eggs are collected n placed in built up area for hatching n the hatchlings released by the park rangers with the visitors to witness the release."
