What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the cool mountain air, the chance to pick fresh strawberries during peak season, and the delightful strawberry treats available at the cafe, especially the pie and unique strawberry matcha. However, some find the farm area small, the entrance fee questionable outside of picking season, and the overall experience brief.
"Mesilou Highland Strawberry Farm 🍓 turned out just as I hoped . a nice escape to sit back and breathe in the cool air. Even when the crowd slowly came in, the calm atmosphere stayed the same. Sitting upstairs felt relaxing, with a simple view that matched the mood. The cake and chocolate strawberries were delightful, especially for true strawberry lovers. But what stood out most for me was the strawberry matcha!perfectly balanced, refreshing, and something I’d come back for again. A place that doesn’t try too hard, yet leaves you satisfied in the simplest way ❤️"

"Just had an amazing time at Mesilou Highland Strawberry Farm! 🍓🌿
The view from up here is absolutely stunning — cool mountain breeze, fresh air, and the lush green scenery all around. I got to pick my own strawberries straight from the garden, and they were so sweet and juicy! The staff were really friendly too, explaining how the strawberries are grown and letting us take our time exploring.
It’s such a peaceful spot to relax, take some great photos, and enjoy a cup of fresh strawberry juice or ice cream. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Kundasang or Mesilou area — a perfect mix of nature, freshness, and fun! 🍓✨"

"don’t waste your time to come here, really nothing much to see and they still charge 5RM for the entrance fee. The strawberries were not in season so there’s nothing to pluck. We bought a punnet of strawberries (18RM) and it’s not even that sweet. Felt that it’s overpriced. They also have some pop up stalls selling strawberry dipped in chocolate and other souvenirs. Nothing much to do here."

The Strawberry Experience: Picking and Tasting
Beyond picking, the farm's cafe is a hub for all things strawberry. Here, you can indulge in a variety of treats that showcase the star ingredient. Popular items include strawberry pie, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and fresh strawberry juice. A unique offering that has garnered praise is the strawberry matcha, noted for its balanced flavor. These treats provide a delightful way to enjoy the local produce, even if picking isn't possible.
It's important to manage expectations regarding the availability of strawberries for picking. Outside of the peak season, the plants may not be as fruitful, and visitors might find themselves relying solely on the cafe's offerings. Some reviews suggest that the quality and sweetness of purchased strawberries can vary, so focusing on the cafe's prepared items might be a safer bet if you're unsure about the picking season.
Ambiance and Views: More Than Just Strawberries
The farm features seating areas, including an upstairs section, which many find particularly relaxing. From these vantage points, you can enjoy a simple, calming view of the surrounding lush greenery. This aspect of the experience is often highlighted by those seeking a moment of quiet reflection or a pleasant spot to simply sit back and breathe. It’s this serene environment that complements the agricultural aspect, making it a well-rounded destination.
However, it's worth noting that some visitors have described the farm area itself as being quite small, perhaps more akin to a backyard garden than an expansive farm. Therefore, while the views are pleasant, the overall visual scale might not be as grand as some might expect. The charm lies more in the intimate, relaxed setting rather than dramatic landscapes.
