What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Melaka Islamic Museum is praised for its informative content on Islam's history and influence in Malaysia, housed in a charming colonial building. While some visitors suggest modernizing exhibits for better engagement, its central location and historical artifacts make it a worthwhile educational stop for many.
"Visited back in Feb before the lockdown. This museums is all about Islam and Islam in Melaka and Malaysia. The museum is over 2 floors. The first floor covers basics of Islam and what it means to be a muslim. The information covers the basics with a little more depth, which made it a more interesting. There were even some exhibits on Islamic designs and what they represent e.g the architecture sculptures that adorn Islamic style buildings.
The second floor was quite boring though. It does go into more depth about the organisation of Islam, important Malaccan religious people and religious education in Melaka. Something I imagine would only be of interest to a muslim and even then maybe not.
Overall, I learnt a little bit more about Islam, so that’s a good thing."
