What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests praise Quayside Heritage Centre for its unbeatable location, offering easy access to Melaka's historical heart and beautiful river views, especially at sunset. However, some reviews highlight concerns regarding room cleanliness, maintenance, and significant issues with booking platform reservations not being honored by the hotel, leading to frustration.
"If you enjoy walking around the historical place this hotel is perfect for u. All places is just walking distance. During weekend there is a Bazar just at the front of the hotel. Very lively during nighttime. The room is quite soundproof as less noises heard from outside road. View from the balcony of river view room is stunning. We enjoy the stay. Room cleanliness and maintenance need improvement if they want to keep the visitor coming. Overall it is superb!"

"Last Saturday, my bosses, colleagues, and I arrived at Quayside Hotel, Melaka. We had made a booking on Booking.com on 25th August 2025 for 5 rooms, scheduled for 27th September 2025.
Upon arrival, I informed the reception and showed the receipt we received from Booking.com. We specifically chose the "pay at counter" option because Booking.com allowed us to do so. However, the reception told us that our booking was cancelled due to “no payment made on time.”
This is completely unacceptable. Why does Booking.com allow this payment option, but the hotel does not honor it? None of your staff contacted us in advance to inform us about any required payment. Instead, we were only told at check-in that the booking was cancelled. How can you simply tell your customers that this is “between us and Booking.com”?
To make things worse, the reception mentioned that another customer had the exact same issue just the day before. If this is a recurring problem, why has nothing been done to resolve it? Instead of helping us, we were left stranded and had to look for another hotel nearby on the spot because Quayside Hotel was already fully booked.
This is extremely disappointing. Quayside Hotel should be taking responsibility and working with Booking.com (or any other platform) to ensure such issues never happen again. Please fix this immediately so that no other customers will have to go through the same frustrating experience.
And there was not even a single apology from the reception staff or the hotel.
SO DISAPPOINTED!!!"

"Bad front desk service , we have book few rooms for our team Staycation through booking.com , the status shown successfully and when wanted to check in happily , while we are here they declined our reservation because our payment not full payment as Booking.com not shown full payment is required.
No solution is given by the representative at front desk as the room is fully booked.
Our side credit card payment is on hold, we have to solve the problem ourself & find other alternative to accommodate our team.
The most terrible service I’ve ever made."
