Pasar Besar Jalan Othman a.k.a PJ Old Town Wet Market. Back when my late father was around, this was where we’ll go together the day before Raya to buy meat for my mum to cook Raya day meal. This was also the first place where I first knew how a slaughter house smells like and the distinctive differences in fish, chicken, mutton and beef raw meat smell. #PasarBesarJalanOthman #PJOldTownWetMarket...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Jalan Othman Market as an authentic hawker food destination offering incredible variety and reasonable prices. It's a true local experience, best enjoyed early in the morning. Some find the bustling, raw market environment overwhelming, and stalls can close quickly, so planning your visit is key.

"There are two medan makan (eating food courts) here, one at a building next to the market, and this one in the market building, under the multi-level parking.

There's quite a few choices of hawkers selling Malay mix rice, Indian Mamak stalls, wan tan mee, nasi lemak, chap fan, kuih, and yau char kueh. Some stalls open as early as 2am, while most others start around 5-6am. By 8am, most of them are closed, except the Malay mix rice (Nasi Campur) stalls which open till lunch.

This food court is awesome only if you want to experience the real market life hawker foods. Not for the lifestyle people, this is the real deal for food hunting. There's a popular Chinese Nasi Lemak run by an old couple since 1978 that only opens on weekends."
