Reviews Summary

SS2 Durian Street is a highly-rated destination for durian lovers, praised for its wide variety of high-quality fruits and reliable vendors who often offer replacements. While prices can be on the higher side, especially for premium varieties, the consistent quality and enjoyable atmosphere make it a worthwhile experience for many, particularly tourists. Some visitors find the prices steep for the amount of flesh, and occasional quality inconsistencies can occur. Reddit

"DurianMan SS2 – Reliable Top-Quality Durians

DurianMan in SS2 has always been my go-to spot, especially when hosting overseas visitors. Not a crazy durian lover but if I’m having it, must be quality fruits. The quality here is consistently at the top end, and what I truly appreciate is their commitment to customer satisfaction, if a fruit doesn’t meet expectations, they replace it without hesitation. In all my visits, I’ve never had a bad experience.

My personal favorites are the Old Tree Musang King, Black Thorn, Tekka, and D24, all of which have impressed my guests every time. The fruits are Grade A, and the taste speaks for itself. Have not try the Tupai King though.

Of course, the price here is on the higher side, but that’s the trade-off for premium durians. While SS2 has no shortage of durian stalls, DurianMan stands out for its reliability and consistent quality. Be prepared to pay, but also to enjoy some of the best durians you can find. Sharing various photos of my visits."

"Yesterday I bought 4 types of durian on line from this Durian Man stall. The 2 boxes of mustang king which cost RM 118 are a bit pricey n the taste was bitterish . It’s quite a low grade of musang king. The other 3 boxes of other types of local durian are not that good either. One of them is quite soft n not creamy enough. On the whole the seeds are quite big n so there’s not much flesh to eat. I have spent almost RM 400 just on these 4 types of durians. Expensive! When I went to the stall to collect my order, they were still opening n packing the durians for me. Even some Grab motorcyclists had to wait there before they got their order. Many customers, mostly tourists were seated there n enjoying their durians. They were given plastic gloves n tissue plus free drinking water as well. They can buy whole coconuts or herbal drinks to go with the durians. One section is for some workers to weigh n open the durians for packing - to get ready for the on line buyers like me. In fact there’s a VIP room ( upstairs) for customers to book the place for a durian feast or party but the minimum spent must be more than RM 800 n with a 10 percent service charge. Furthermore no outside food or drinks are allowed to be brought in. I waited about 30 minutes before my order was ready. With that, I drove home. They also sell all types of other durians such as the exorbitant Black Thorn which is even more expensive than Musang King. They also sell bundles of small mangosteens n it costs RM 15 per bundle. Besides this, they sell various air- dried fruits in sealed packs such as durian, jackfruit, mangosteen n even rambutans. A good spot for foreign tourists who enjoy our Malaysian king of fruits."

"Yesterday I went over here to eat durians with a close friend. We have an urge to eat durians. So this is the best place cos they have a great variety of durians here- from kampong durian to the higher grade such as Musang King n Black Thorn. We sat at a table n chose some of the freshest n higher grade durians. We prefer Musang King rather than the Black Thorn. We were given plastic gloves n a staff after weighing the fruits we had chosen, came to open the durian for us. We enjoyed eating the King of fruits n chatted for old times sake. We could eat in comfort cos the place was big but not noisy unlike some Chinese restaurants. We also ordered 2 fresh n sweet coconuts to counter the heatiness of the durian. We also bought 2 bottles of homemade herbal drinks to take home. The durians were yummy though I find this durian feast is a bit too expensive. Can't afford to eat this often . Can only treat ourselves once in a blue moon. Anyway will try to go for another round of durian binge before the durian season ends- hopefully by the end of July."
