Reviews Summary
Pantai Redang Sekinchan offers a unique experience with its vibrant mudflats teeming with critters during low tide and delicious, fresh seafood. While not suitable for swimming due to murky waters and sharp shells, it's a peaceful spot for nature observation and enjoying the coastal breeze. Some visitors find the smell and the 'pink beach play area' disappointing, but the overall charm lies in its natural ecosystem and local culinary offerings.
"A Whisper by the Sea — Pantai Redang, Sekinchan ✨
Nestled along the peaceful coastline of Sekinchan, Selangor, lies a little gem called Pantai Redang — a place where the sea breeze carries stories from the past, and every wave whispers a tale of old fishermen and quiet sunsets.
Once a humble landing point for fishing boats in the early 1900s, Pantai Redang has grown into a beloved seaside escape. Its name, “Redang,” meaning “to stop or rest”, reflects its history as a place where fishermen anchored their boats after a long day at sea. Here, life was simple — the sound of waves, the smell of fresh catch, and the rhythm of the tide.
Today, this small beach is best known for its Wishing Tree — a majestic banyan tree dressed in fluttering red ribbons. Each ribbon carries someone’s hope, gently dancing with the wind as if whispering dreams to the ocean. 🌿✨
Standing on the shore, you’ll be greeted by the endless view of the Straits of Malacca, where the sky and sea meet in a golden line during sunset. Although not a swimming beach, it’s a perfect spot for evening walks, photography, or simply sitting by the sand to listen to the sea.
Just steps away, a small temple watches over the waves — a silent guardian for the fishermen who still set sail each day. Around the area, you’ll find seafood stalls, local snacks, and the warm smile of a quiet fishing village.
🌅 Pantai Redang is more than just a beach — it’s a living memory of Sekinchan’s fishing past, wrapped in the gentle embrace of nature’s calm. A perfect place to pause, breathe, and let your heart make a wish beneath the old tree.

"We enjoyed walking around the beach, taking pictures with the nice beach scenery as backdrop. Then enjoyed seafood lunch at the food court nearby. Good atmosphere. The elderly and the young were happy."

"As someone who loves beach critters, I was so pleasantly surprised when the tides receeded and revealed a mudground underneath. Lots of critters crawling in the mud and between the rocks! Mudskippers, snails, tiny mussels, crabs.
Given the mud and the fact that the shore is mad entirely of shells that can cut your feet, this is definitely not a swimming beach. But if you live sea critters like me, this beach is a must-visit. Very unique and different than sand beaches. Remember must come at LOW TIDE to see critters"
