Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam for its vastness, affordability, and authentic rainforest feel, making it a great escape for families and nature lovers. While some older attractions show wear, the natural beauty and diverse features like the animal farm and paddy fields offer a rewarding experience. The park is a budget-friendly option for a day out, though managing crowds and transport within the large area requires some planning.
"Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam (TBNSA) is a vast and affordable national park that offers an authentic rainforest experience right near the city. It serves as a fantastic destination for family outings, fitness, and nature education, providing fresh air and a tranquil setting that feels miles away from the urban hustle.
While some older attractions such as Jambatan Gantung TBNSA (Suspension Bridge TBNSA) and Menara Tinjau (Observation Tower) may suffer from maintenance issues, the overall experience is rewarding due to the sheer size and beauty of the natural environment.
Key Attractions :
* Taman Malaysia: A beautiful and culturally rich architectural gem near the entrance, featuring striking Malay, Indian, and Chinese pavilions.
* Paddy Fields (Taman Padi): Provides lush, green views and a glimpse into traditional Malaysian agrarian life.
* Kolam C : a serene, easily accessible lake that offers a stunning, picture-perfect reflection of the lush greenery near the main entrance.
* Taman Haiwan @TBNSA: A family-friendly area to see animals like pony, goats, ostrich, alpaca, and horses, etc
* Air Kuning Dam (EAK): A secluded, scenic dam famous as a top destination for pacu fishing.
* Specialty Gardens: Educational areas like the Cactus Garden, Spice & Beverages Garden, and Herbs & Medicinal Garden.
* RISEM Island: A highly serene spot for quiet photography, offers tranquil pond and forest views, accessible via a picturesque but cautious wooden footbridge.
Tips for Your Visit:
1. Bring cash if you are driving: RM5 per car, cash only, pay at entrance.
2. Entrance Fee: RM3 per person, accept QR payment.
3. Getting Around: Eventhough the park is huge, walking is still feasible (we walked all the way). Only issue probably is the road not pedestrian friendly, the cyclists might be coming at high speed. The shuttle bus is always full.
4. Facilities: Basic amenities like a surau, picnic tables, and toilets are available, particularly near the main areas."

"Very big, bigger than Taman Botani Kuala Lumpur, almost similar to FRIM like a forest. CASH ONLY. Parking fee RM5, entrance fee RM3. Got animal farm, entrance fee RM18.
Got free bus ride going around, also got bicycle rental ~RM10 unlimited hours.
Though some of the attractions are looking slightly old, overall area is clean.
Beware of monkeys 😆"
