"The zoo is beautiful and incredibly spacious, set on a massive 36-acre site with a natural lake and streams running through it. Instead of feeling like concrete enclosures, the animal exhibits are designed to mimic their natural habitats, nestled within lush rainforests and greenery. It feels more like a walk through a beautiful nature park where you just happen to encounter amazing wildlife.
We saw a various array of animals, from the majestic Malayan tigers and powerful African lions to graceful giraffes and playful orangutans. The "Elephants of the Perak River" exhibit was a particular highlight! The sheer variety of both local and international wildlife is impressive.
But the absolute must-do is the Night Safari! It was a magical experience to see nocturnal animals like hyenas and owls become so active under the special "moonlight" lighting. The sounds of the jungle at night were unforgettable.
A word of advice: the place is big, so make use of the free tram service or rent a buggy. We spent a full day here and loved every minute. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone who appreciates nature and wildlife in a beautiful, well-maintained setting!"
