What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mathiveri Island is praised as a 'small diamond' offering an authentic, peaceful, and clean Maldivian experience. Visitors love its real local feel, beautiful beaches, and friendly people, with excursions being notably affordable. Some find the dining options limited, and the island's infrastructure is basic compared to resorts.
"One of the beautiful island and yet historical. Brought up as fishing villages from their ancestors and now with 800 families. The real beauty at another side of the island you can see especially their coconut trees which brings holiday moods. And blue lagoon in between one of the most incredible view that we can have here. Few small guests house for those wish to enjoy beautiful place and truly Maldivian hospitality. Also to know locals indept."

"Small diamond of Maldives. It isn’t still too touristic, it is real local. Only 2 nice restaurants, perfect beaches and nice people. Excursions much cheaper then on Ukulhas, and all other prices. Perfect for stay 3-4 days. As from words of locals soon all south beach will became a bikini beach and that is good news. You can swim or walk to Robinson island at the southeast point of Mathiveri."

"Mathiveri is a great island to experience the real Maldives - local, quiet, not many tourists on the beach. The beaches and water around the island are clean and you can enjoy the reef - we also saw turtles and sharks. The people are very friendly and open."
