What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Skorba Temples offers a glimpse into Malta's Neolithic past with its ancient ruins and pottery remnants. Visitors appreciate the historical significance and the peaceful, often solitary, experience. However, some find the site small with limited information due to faded signage, and note that tickets must be purchased elsewhere.
"Part of the ticket to get you into both sites which are close by. I truly enjoyed the history of site. I was blessed to have site to myself and I loved the energy of site. Spent some time just sitting and soaking it in. Definitely worth a visit if you are going to the other site since it is $6 for both sites."
Luke Loran
"Site itself is interesting but not much to see and very poor details. Tickets can be found in the Restaurant on the corner before to get to the archeological site. 6 euros that includes also TA HAGRAT not far.
Ta Hagrat on the other hand is way more monumental."
Giuseppe Spina
"Very little to see: just the ruins of a building within a small area. Visit took 5 minutes. Unfortunately, all the description boards had faded in the sun hence were difficult to read. There was an attendant in a portacabin & a portaloo. Apart from my wife & me the site was deserted. Very sad for a site claiming UNESCO World Heritage Status."

The Neolithic Significance of Skorba
While the site is compact, the historical weight is immense. The presence of pottery fragments further enriches the understanding of daily life, trade, and culture during this ancient era. Despite the minimal visible structures today, the energy and historical significance of Skorba are palpable, especially when visited during quieter times.
It's important to note that the site's presentation has faced criticism for lacking detailed information due to faded signage. This underscores the value of pre-visit research or engaging with guides if available, to fully appreciate the context and importance of Skorba Temples within the broader narrative of Maltese archaeology.

Be prepared for a brief visit. Many reviewers mention spending only 5-10 minutes at Skorba itself, as it is a small archaeological area. This brevity, coupled with potentially faded information boards, means managing expectations is important.
