Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Babore Temples for their historical significance, free entry, and peaceful atmosphere, highlighting the ancient architecture and well-maintained grounds. Some note that the temples are partially damaged and can feel a bit secluded, with one mention of being near a cremation ground.

"Manwal is a small town in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 70 Km from Jammu and 29 Km from Udhampur. Manwal and Thalora are famous among tourists because of the five ASI protected ancient temples located within One square kilometre. These temples dating to 10th-11th century are the Devi Bhagwati temple, the Dera temple, the Kala Dera-l and the Kala Dera-ll temple and the Nand Babour temple. Over the time these temples have lost their shape and beauty and are partially damaged. The Archeological Survey Of India is doing a commendable job by maintaining and up-keeping these temples. The ruin of these temples narrates the rich heritage and architecture of our country. Every aspect of these temples is worth watching. The temples need more publicity and attention by the authorities so that more and more tourists visit the place thereby generating a good revenue and employment for the state. The temples are located very close to the main market of the town. Enough free parking is available on the road side. The entry is free and electronic gadgets like mobiles and cameras are allowed to be carried inside. The lawns around the temples create a beautiful landscape design. Benches are there for the tourists to sit and to enjoy the beauty of the place.A must visit and serene place."
