El Museo Nacional de la Muerte -the Museum of Death- opened in a historic convent building in 2007 in the historic center of Aguascalientes. It has expanded several times and now has 6 sections with different displays of how death is portrayed in Mexico. Oh, and that big head is from the 007 movie Spectre. #vivaaguascalientes

"Death becomes us. The National Museum of Death located in downtown Aguascalientes is a must visit. First of all, its free. Secondly, the collections are amazing. Sugar skulls, to film, to print to MesoAmerica artifacts to paintings and drawings. There was even a special event today that we got to partake in. The gift shop was closed but overall a great way to beat the heat and see how Mexico embraces death."

"The best musuem of this kind, about death, skulls, corpses, graves, momias, ghosts, vampires, killers, tortures. They have bones and skulls, so much art displays, pictures, sculptures, ceramic, masks, figurines real size and miniature, interactive. I didn’t expect that I could spend 2 hours wandering there. Besides it’s a very Antigua building. It's a gem, must visit."

Connie Wan

"Highly recommend to visit this wonderful museum near centro if you have the time. It's filled with beautiful art spanning hundreds of years. The folks who work there are helpful and kind as well."
