"We visited on the way back to Guadalajara from the Chapala group tour, and there weren’t many people around. It was quiet, and we took some great photos with the colorful streets, buildings, houses, cafes, restaurants, and shops, all with the beautiful Chapala Lagoon in the background. I also noticed some retired folks and other friendly locals.
I would recommend Ajijic over Chapala if you have the chance to visit."

"Short and sweet, beautiful mountain and sunset. It started as a peer for the fishermen and as well as the traders over the lake but has since then become a fishing spot-- there are there many punters who come down here to see what they can catch. In addition to the walkway there's a park where there are cultural places where they were having some bands play when I was walking through their on these patios these bands are playing and they were families picnicking and there were people playing basketball and there's even a skate park. that sounds like there was too much activity going on to be peaceful , yet it is still peaceful and pretty great place to watch the sunset. There's a lot of great birdlife here too with a lot of squawky little water birds and big gracious heron. If you like ice cream there are plenty of people selling it."
