What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning turquoise waters and the unique experience of floating down the natural rapids. It's praised as a relaxing and fun spot, perfect for families and a must-visit in Bacalar. Some find the on-site restaurant prices a bit high, and there's a note of confusion regarding the protection of stromatolites compared to other areas.
"We had loads of fun at this surprising place! Set in a beautiful protected ecological site. This river flows into Bacalar Lagoon through the mangroves. It’s fast flowing so you just walk along the boards (taking care not to touch any rocks or mangroves along the way as they are delicate) and simply jump in with life jackets and let the current drift you down the river until you get to the end of the tour. Then you simply jump out and do it all over again! 😁
It was perfect for our family of 5! Affordable to enter (cash only), $150 per child and $200 per adult. Food and drinks available on site (card accepted for this).
Life jackets provided!!
Kayaks are also available for an additional $200.
We spend hours here enjoying the peaceful ride and soaking up the surroundings nature! Not to mention creating our own fun and chasing fish.
Totally recommend!"

"So fun! Go early before people show up and you can have the place to yourselves. Take a right at the end of the road and the location has food, drinks, and a boardwalk so you don’t have to walk on the rocks. No creepy animals 🐊safe and they have life jackets if you need one. But the float is slow and gorgeous! Enjoy!!!"

"200 pesos per person for entry. Won’t allow food or drinks in so obviously they cater killing prices for drinks and meals… example pizza for 280 pesos or water for 80 pesos.
You basically float down the river for about 100meters. Option to use a life vest. Kayak another 400 pesos. Wouldn’t recommend that tho. Can make some snappy pictures if you have a drone."
