Reviews Summary

Visitors find Mercado de la Merced to be a fascinating, vibrant, and overwhelming experience. Its chaotic nature is part of its charm, offering a truly authentic glimpse into local life with incredible food and diverse shopping opportunities. While easy to get lost, the adventure is well worth it for those seeking a genuine cultural immersion.

"I do find it fascinating. Chaotic but so original, you must visit, try some of the food cooked on stalls situated on the edge of the entrance, buy some fruit, vegetables, spices or have a beer watching the busy shoppers and sellers. It is really colourful, vibrant. You can get lost here, easily. The metro station entrance is right inside. But the market itself expands to the outer streets, diversifying into outlets of clothing, cooking, everything really. Today was a rainy day, a hash environment, wet and even more complicated to get your bearings. But nonetheless, i truly enjoyed coming here."

"It’s a must see place! It’s one of the most unique bazaars that I’ve ever been and it has been kept as old-school as possible. It’s a madhouse, but it’s functional just when you’re there. Don’t act as an idiot."
