Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the beautiful colonial building and the impressive Orozco murals, often finding it a peaceful escape from crowds, especially on weekdays. However, many express disappointment when key exhibits, including the Diego Rivera mural, are closed for restoration, making it advisable to check what's open beforehand.

"It was open on Sunday afternoon , so I popped in. It is a beautiful building. The halls were not open, but I could still walk around and I could see the murals of Orozco and Charlot. It was nice to get out of the Sunday crowd. It was free. If you find this building open, it is definitely worth it to pop in."

"Beautiful building with some impressive murals. We lucked out and were able to get into the theatre to see the Rivera mural. Sadly, most rooms/exhibits were closed which was surprising and disappointing. I recommend checking about what is open for viewing before purchasing tickets."

Amy Passafiume

"I will not hesitate to give this hall of masterpieces 5 stars. Some of the best Orozco murals in existence! And they say his first! In a beautiful setting that was not too crowded. The front desk staff were FANTASTIC. They were enthusiastic, helpful in both English and Spanish, and just a pleasure. The tour guide was wonderful. Couldn't have asked for better. Too bad she said her name too fast I didn't catch it. As far as I know only tours are in Spanish, but hey, it's Mexico after all. My only recommendation to the museum administration, create a paper map or guide that is available for purchase in English and Spanish. I know it's a lot of work but some people just hate having to look at their phones the whole time for the guide. You might even make some money off of it if you make a nice paper map that doubles as a souvernir!"
