What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dive Paradise Cozumel is widely praised for its exceptional diving experiences, particularly its ability to accommodate divers of all levels, including those with special needs and beginners. Many highlight the vibrant marine life and stunning reefs. However, some guests have encountered issues with boat capacity, gear availability, and inflexible cancellation policies.
"Dive Paradise is an outstanding experience to do in Cozumel! Last week, I dove with my son, who has special needs, and our instructors made everything more than enjoyable for us. I had already dived in the past, but it was my son's first time. It was a very important challenge for me to get my son to dive, since he's very comfortable swimming. Two instructors, who are adapted diving instructors, guided us all the time with some scuba education and supported him in an amazing way.
Dive Paradise works wonderfully with children, adults, and people with special needs. My son's first diving experience was incredible thanks to the instructors who were there for him every step of the way.
I highly recommend Dive Paradise to all of my friends. Best dive we could have had! Thanks Dive Paradise!!"

"We had a trip planned to stay at the hotel Cozumel and contacted this company to arrange for my son to complete his Open Water certification and then dive the rest of the week Period We were urged to pay in full a month before which I refuse to do. Sure enough when we arrived we were told they had no space even though this isn't the busy time of year. It turns out they were hosting a group. It also turned out that two of their boats were down for repairs. They did find someone to complete my son's Open Water. I spoke to another guest in the elevator who had in fact paid them a month in advance and was still told they had no space so they had booked him with a different dive shop. I reached out to that same dive shop and not only were they able to accommodate but later in the week their boat was hired by dive Paradise. We did manage to do Trip with Dive during the week and Not only was the boat packed But The ratio of divers to dive Master was seven to one There were lots of people getting in the way. All in all I would say I did not enjoy my experience with this company Even though the people were Really nice"

"Absolutely loved it! Both the training and the dice went perfect, Carlos really took care of us.. when he trained us, he was very detailed in not only explaining the features, but for what purpose and consequence.. very educational!
The reefs they chose in Cozumel were the best.. point out the marine life while we were down, and even finding some of the rare sights of fish along the way..
Would go back to dive paradise any day they took care of us above and below..
Great job and thank you to that whole team!!!"

Deep Dives
In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Mastering Cozumel's Drift Dives
For new divers, the concept of drifting can seem daunting. However, reputable operators like Dive Paradise are adept at guiding beginners. They'll brief you on entry and exit points, how to maintain neutral buoyancy, and how to signal your divemaster if you feel uncomfortable. The key is open communication; don't hesitate to voice any anxieties. Many divers find that after their first drift dive, they feel more confident and appreciate the unique, relaxed way of exploring the underwater world.
When drift diving, it's essential to stay close to your buddy and your divemaster. The currents can sometimes create a sense of being swept away, but with proper guidance, it's a controlled and incredibly enjoyable experience. The reward is an immersive journey through Cozumel's stunning coral gardens, often encountering large pelagics and schools of fish that are less disturbed by a slow, steady drift.
Discovering Cozumel's Vibrant Marine Ecosystem
Beyond the common sightings, Cozumel offers opportunities to spot more elusive creatures. Depending on the season and dive site, you might encounter various species of sharks, moray eels peeking from crevices, and even seahorses. The Devil's Throat dive site, while challenging, is known for its dramatic underwater topography and the unique light beams that pierce the depths, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere.
Conservation is key to maintaining this underwater paradise. The Cozumel Marine Park fee that divers pay directly contributes to the protection and preservation of these delicate ecosystems. By diving responsibly, respecting marine life, and following the guidance of your divemaster, you help ensure that future generations can experience the same breathtaking underwater world.
Specialized Diving: Accessibility and Certification
For those looking to get certified, Cozumel is an excellent location. The clear, warm waters and predictable conditions are ideal for learning. Dive Paradise offers comprehensive courses, ensuring that new divers gain the necessary skills and confidence. The Discover Scuba Diving program is also a fantastic option for those who want a taste of diving without committing to a full certification.
When planning a dive trip that involves certification or requires specific accommodations, it's always best to communicate your needs clearly and in advance. This allows the dive operator to make the necessary arrangements and assign the most suitable instructors, ensuring a personalized and successful diving experience for everyone.
